Goal : Balanced Living
Vision : Sustainable Food System
Mission : Learning organization based on Thai way of life and sustainable development
Brand Value Proposition : Inspire Learning and Foster Change
History
Suan Sampran began when Dr Chamnan and Khunying Valee Yuvaboon took a boat ride along the Ta Chine river and saw a hundred-year old Pikul tree about to fall to the river due to eroding river bank. They decided to buy the land and build a vacation home. In 1962, the business was founded to welcome those who want to take a break from the city amidst gardens of roses which was initially a hobby of the owners but later became the landmark known amongst foreign tourists as the Rose Garden.
Learning Journey
From the beginning in 1962, Suan Sampran has opened its door to visitors who come to appreciate serene nature by the river and learn about the Thai way of life. Throughout the years and 3 generations of family management, Suan Sampran has been recognized as a learning space and continued to be a learning organization. Since 2009, Suan Sampran has initiated a movement for sustainable food system under the Sampran Model that highlights principles of inclusive business development and collaborated with a network of organic farmers as well as relevant stakeholders on the basis of fair trade.
